Wicked Marlin’s fishing charter vacation to Baja, Mexico
With our first “Wicked Marlin” season down on the southern tip of Baja, Mexico coming to an end we would like to first thank everyone that took the time to come down and visit us.
We very much enjoyed all the company and having the opportunity to show off the beautiful area, culture and food in one of the most spectacular places on earth!
Now onto the fishing side of things.
What a fantastic season it was! The Pelagic fishing was off the charts with days of over 15+ Dorado (Mahi Mahi) coming to the boat, with Rooster Fish and Sierra mixed in too. The water temperatures stayed in the high 70’s to mid 80’s which helped keep good numbers of fish in the area throughout the season. This made for great fishing and happy guests, some for the first time and others on return trips.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the private, tropical vacation property just steps from the beach, the amazing food, the refreshing pool, the fresh aromas from the local farm lands of basil, chilies and other traditional plants.
Our local guide Enrique ,who has spent most of the last 18yrs fishing the local waters, never failed to put our guests on fish. Everyone gets to fish in comfort aboard his 23 ft Panga.
The most fun was had using all top of the line light tackle Rapala rods and reels on these amazing Pelagic fish. The concept is quite new for the area, we started testing the idea a few years back with Mark Pendlington of West Coast Sporting Journal, it was a hit and more fun than you could imagine!
We are very pleased with how everything played out this season being our first season offering our All-Inclusive Baja Mexico Fishing Safaris, and looking forward to next season down on the southern tip of Baja, creating new experiences and memories for new and returning guest.
